Website Overhaul With Beyond The Green Coaching

The Project

AJ, the founder and CEO of Beyond The Green Coaching, wanted to fully overhaul her website design and migrate her website domain from Wix to Kajabi, where she hosts her coaching course. AJ’s Wix website was a one-page, single-scroll website, which served her well for her first two years in business. Ready to scale and needing more functionality, AJ hired me to work with her web designer to create a brand new website that better captured the offerings of her business, allowed for simple lead generation and simplified the customer journey.

The Process

All credit for the design of AJ’s website goes to Shaloo at Techygrrrl. At the beginning of the project, Shaloo provided us with a structured document to write all of the copy for the website, and that’s where I got to work. Using AJ’s existing website and other written materials as inspiration, I was able to adopt her brand voice and write the copy for her website. As project manager, I was in regular communication with Shaloo to provide additional pieces of content, testimonials, videos and answer questions about the customer process. When Shaloo had completed web pages for review, I then met with AJ to review the completed pages, took notes on any changes AJ wanted and then coordinated those changes to Shaloo.

Once the design was set and approved, my experience working in the back-end of websites allowed me to quality check and edit all copy/buttons/navigation/etc to fine tune the website to AJ’s needs.

The Outcome

The real magic of this project lies in the behind-the-scenes details. Migrating AJ’s website to Kajabi allowed her to manage most of her business operations in one place rather than across many pieces of software. We moved her email marketing and customer management into Kajabi from other systems, which allowed us to automate many processes that were previously done manually. Finally, I set up a number of automated email cadences that were triggered by actions taken on the website; for every form-fill, product purchased or interest expressed, an action was taking place in the back-end to catalogue and communicate with website visitors.
